Hi Everyone, Continued thanks for your many letters and e-mails. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoy watching my films and television shows. It's nice to hear from all of you. If you're a new visitor to my webpage, I'd like to welcome you. Take a look around and let me know what you think. Well, as you might have already guessed, I really love the Disney Channel! They have been extraordinarily kind to me, don't you agree? I've already had a movie, THE THIRTEENTH YEAR, which has been airing on the Channel for the past 9 months or so. Then, I started working on the weekly series, THE JERSEY. And when THE JERSEY went on hiatus in February, after filming 25 wonderful episodes, I immediately got sent to the beautiful country of Australia to film yet another Disney Channel movie, STEP-SISTER FROM THE PLANET WEIRD. It was a fabulously fun "working vacation." In fact, it was so much fun, and so relaxing (because of the wonderful people I was working with), I hardly felt as if I was working! STEPSISTER premiered on the Disney Channel on June 17th, and will continue to air intermittently for several months. As usual, I was blessed with a fabulous cast and production team! So, I hope you like the movie. Also, in April, my first feature-length film, THE DUKE, was released both for sale and home video rental. It is selling at Price Club, Costco, Sam's, Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, and Suncoast Video, to name a few. I know a lot of my most fervent fans have rushed right out to buy it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And to those of you who did so, thank you for taking the time to write to me with your thoughts about the movie. And guess what! (Drum-roll, please) Disney Channel will start airing THE DUKE in February of 2001. You can find out more information about this movie at http://members.xoom.com/woodchuck67/. I've been seeing a lot of you while I'm out enjoying myself at Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, shopping malls, etc. And for some reason, some of you seem to be afraid of me. How many times do I read mail which says "I saw you at such-and-such a place, and I really wanted to talk to you, but I was too shy…" I feel badly when I read mail like that. I mean, I don’t want to sound arrogant, but this is the part of being in show business that I enjoy most of all! Getting to meet you. At least so far…that could change…but if it does, I’ll let you know. (LOL) And guess what…I have news for you…I feel shy too, sometimes. Yes, it’s true! I can "feel" people staring at me, and I can’t tell if it’s because they recognize me from TV, or maybe they are admiring my shoes, or perhaps they are wondering "whatever was she thinking when she got dressed this morning!?", or (gasp!) maybe I have something hanging from my nose! So you can see why I get nervous if you just stare. My mom says I should simply smile and look friendly, but I am just like you and have those same normal teenage fears that you do, especially rejection. Besides, if I smile while I have something hanging from my nose, it’ll just make that "something" flutter and more noticeable. Get my drift? So anyway, to reassure you, I won't bite you or be otherwise rude to you if you approach me. So don't be scared. I am more than happy to pose for pictures with you or sign autographs. After all, the fans are very important to one's career. And I want you to know how important you really are. Thank you for being there for me!I also want to thank all of you who showed up at Disney’s PremEARS in the Park in July. I had a lot of fun meeting all of you. I don’t think I have ever posed for so many pictures in my entire life! My face was sore for days, from all that smiling! Made me glad that I was dressed nicely, at least. =) It surely looked as if THE JERSEY is a popular show (and STEPSISTER FROM PLANET WEIRD, too)! I was glad to see that. Thanks for letting us know how much you appreciate us. I know I write this in practically every website letter I write, but I guess I need to keep writing it over and over. I have prepared that (tacky) Fun Facts Page so you can read the information about me that so many of you ask for. I really don’t want to sound rude or ungrateful, but I cannot answer the long lists of questions some of you ask me when you write to me. As you know, I pride myself on the fact that I can still answer letters that each of you writes. (Yes, I know, sometimes it takes a few weeks, but you’ve got to be patient. I’m only one person.) So I do have to keep my responses short. And that is exactly why I prepared the information for you ahead of time. =) I love you guys, but please check out the Fun Facts Page before you write. I really want to be responsive to all of you and I feel stupid when I have to write back "please refer to the Fun Facts Page of my website…" Well, I guess that's all I have to say for this month.
